Hello been called about going to look at a big joiners workshop where they are having problems with the lighting. In one part of the workshop they have these kind of lights,

and the problem is that after been on for a bit random ones keep dimming themselves, and the joiners in the workshop have found the way to solve this problem is to bang the ceiling near to the light with a piece of wood ( Applaud Smiley ) and this brightens them back up!
Has anyone heard of this kind of problem? I'm only an apprentice but am going up there toady with my boss and he hasnt seen anything like this?
P.S The joiner shop has its own supply from the rest of the workshop and is a 3 phase system.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Stew.
