Is there a relevance to this post???????hello. i have been informed today by a health and safety advisor that it is now to be carried out every 3 years instead of 5???
Correct BS 7671 and all the guidance notes are not law, they are advice on how you may meet the law, they do not exclude other options and they do not guarantee to meet them.It does not 'have' to be carried out ever !
:slapIf you have an industrial or commercial install under the control of a competent electrical engineer, then the requirement for "PIRs" in 7671 can be completely ignored.
Please ensure that you tell the H&S "advisor" that they don't know what they are doing, and if they have an issue, you have another competent H&S advisor who can help explain the situation to them, oh, and the other H&S advisor is also an IOSH member!
If they ask please put them in touch with me through the forum & I will introduce them to the other advisor, who is covered by PII for electrical H&S consultancy.
