Hi guys

I have a double electric oven with power output of 4900W but haven't installed it yet. This will be on its own dedicated circuit on a 40amp MCB. Correct me if I'm wrong, so the electric oven will draw a maximum of around 21amps (4900W / 230V). Should I be concerned about the 40 amp MCB that it's too high and should this be changed to a lower size MCB?

Many thanks

yer, the MCB is there to protect the cable,

what size cable is installed?

and how has it been installed?

they are the defining points as to the MCB size being correct.

But equally there's no harm in replacing it with say a 32A mcb if it makes you happier.
or a 25  :D
