Converting three phase to single -bench grinder

Hia,

I picked up a super cheap war era three phase bench grinder for a bit of restoration. Plan is to service it and then flip it. However I was wondering how simple would it be to convert it to single phase. Electrics really are my weak spot but im Ken to see if there is any I can do that wouldn't be too expensive or too laborious.

You can buy single to 3 phase converters on eBay and the like, price varies depending on the HP of the grinder.  I would advise that since you stated that electrics are your weak point that you get someone who knows what they are doing to spec it and wire it up.

Just be sure you can’t over speed the wheel.

The stone should have the maximum peripheral speed marked on it, from that you can work out the maximum RPM.
