I wasn't thinking about spurs more just socket radials :facepalm:   might give it a try with some crabtree stuff, its always good for imperial stranded where others fail

I have fitted and worked on loads of socket circuits using 4mm cable, and many sockets with 2x 4mm cables going into one terminal.

depends what make of socket you use Pewter, it neber used to be an issue, but the terminals have definetly shrunk on many makes.
