Yes I have used some .... We use them in the chicken sheds we wire up... Some used standard tubes and some used the larger wattage version

 
Same application. I assume they are no different to install than a standard corrosion resistant fitting?
Depends on the dimming wiring. Some just work in a similar fashion to incandescants and dimmers, some have a seperate control wire for dimming.

So you have a Live and a Dimmed Live - am I undestanding you right?

No. You'd have a 230V feed looped though all the fittings. This is simply on\off as on a normal lighting circuit. You then have a low voltage pair looped through all the fittings which provides 0-10V (0V full, 10V dim) from the controller.
