I am attempting to install lighting in my garage, i have put up 3 bayonet lamp fittings, and these i am going to wire into a 4 way junction box. the cable from the junction box i will send into a fused connection box, and then from this to an through switch, which i am going to connect via a 3 pin standard socket.

does this sound complete?

I am using the 3 pin plug, as i do not feel confident enough to wire in a permanent socket.

No point in the fused connection unit, put a 3A fuse in the plug

A couple of flourecent or LED strip lights gives a a far better light for a garage than BC lamps.

I would use LED lights as per Dave's suggestion, but do try to make sure you seal up any cable entires to prevent ingress of insects, for which IP rated fittings tend to offer the best solution.
