Not seen a thread for compiling this sort of work - have I missed it or is that something the forum prefers not to do?

I can see why they decided to avoid using Henleys, but the installation is potential hassle for a home owner.

I assume Smart Home charge are responsible for that mess
It certainly makes it difficult to access the main switch without putting strain on and possibly weakening a number of connections

Apparently they need to be in an enclosure as there is only single insulation on the join.

Those splices are meant for overhead lines, not where they can be touched.

That mess shouldn't be in the cabinet anyway.

They are not approved for use on 6181Y conductors so if employed you would have to note a departure and give evidence they are no less safe than the standard requires.

That’s a mess, never seen line taps used in the meter cabinet before, and why is the dno cut out not secured to the backboard.
I think it’s the new version of the angled bit of non-weatherproof chipboard to stop the service having two 90° bends in it due to the utterly ***** design of the boxes
