Doggie Sunburn

Hi Apache,

Can dogs get sunburn?

Our elder Jack has developed a very pink muzzle, it does not seem to be bothering her, but she is a bit of a sun worshiper!

Should we be concerned?

Should/can we put sun cream on it?  Though I suspect she would just lick it off, perhaps doing more damage by ingesting the sun cream?!

Any fair skinned animal can get sunburn. Not a lot you can do about it. Avoid the mid-day sun!

Good luck Sidey I normally put suncream or sudocream on some of the horses that are prone to sunburn, but unlike dogs they don't tend to lick it off!

Perhaps you could attach a very small and lightweight umbrella to her collar to keep her head in the shade...? :slap

proper dog, mines fussy (been spoilt by missus)
