priced a job working with a bathroom fitter for a customer. to install a few spots, LED's in bath panel etc, and bathroom fitter is replacing bathroom

old 3036, no RCD in sight. they want CU replaced but not til next year, so its been priced as bathroom work and either new CU or adding RCD's (earthing all done).

then get an email back 'were on a strict budget so can you do it cheaper'

its going to cost them about

On the flip side of this I've just ha a similar job - bathroom extractor fan and new light... now the "fuse board" was an old Bill ceramic 3036 with asbestos flash pads and not an RCD in sight, the lighting circuit also didn't have a CPC.

Told the customer about these issues an he asked me what the best solution was - new CU and rewire of lighting...

I went home, typed the quote up, dropped it off on way to the offy and she opened the door. Oh, I think I might have to re-think..........finances you see. What the hell changed in an hour? I even agreed to do her a favour and do it before I Vat register in Jan so she doesn't pay another
