Looking at installing new economy seven cu. But there is not a lot of room above door where the old wylex 3 way is placed. Looking at hager 3 way, Can I use a rcd main switch in the new cu to save the space of having a main switch then rcd in the cu?

What are your thought guys?

Erm, yes. Who told you to fit a main switch then a separate RCD?

Thanks guys

Thanks sorted, Was just worried about using the rcd as the main sw for the board. The other board for the general flat power is also a small one with only 5 circuits, so am going to use a hager insulated board with rcbos for the protection. Thanks again guys.

I would use main switch and Rcbo's but only for the fact after a recent consumer unit change I have now got to replace element on storage heater. Problem with Rcd main switch if it trips they will have no heating at all. I would give customer options and point out disadvantage of Rcd main switch.
