Question>>

A transformer is rated at 10kW but is only delivering 9.8kW. Copper losses are 0.33kW and Iron losses are 0.2kW. Calculate the efficiency of the transformer.

98%

99%

90.4%

88.6%

My calculation..

Efficiency = output/input X 100

therefore 9.8 / 10.53 ( this includes the losses 0.2+0.33 ) x 100

I have the answer of 93%

>>>>> I hope my calculation is right, if not , can anyone show me the right one please..

thank you all..

The question is worded to throw you off the cent , (I believe) , your formula is correct but you have thrown the information that isnt relavent into it .

See if you can work it out from that information.
