Carried out an inspection as this house was to be let. Found with some strange results . I have worked in this road before and remembered most have no suppliers earth ( very unusual around these parts).
Firstly noted the water stop cock could not get much closer to the MET, yet the water was not bonded ( the green cables went to the old gas. Then noted the earth connection at the head (top right of pic)
So tested the Ze and found no earth, no Rcd's either apart from a disused one for a removed shower. I decided that the full test should not carry on so i did some dead testing and a bit of searching around for remedies as i know the landlord.
Now the worrying (or normal nowadays) bit. A loft conversion was carried out last 13 months ago. Elecsa cert and the whole job signed off by a private company for the LABC.
This is the supply for the new C/U in the loft (top left) To close to the gas for my liking and only a switch
Took the cover off
Other end of cable, which was cabletied up the drainpipe and in to the loft room.
I then looked at the Installation cert, Definitely a driveby. The name of the company was spelt wrong which aroused suspicion.
It says its a BS1361 type 2, 100A main fuse on a TNS supply.
Of course, none of the readings were anything like i found, even the schedule was wrong. I googled the company and its a very large concern that does all forms of testing, gas, lecky, Pat, Energy performance etc.
Connection of bathroom cabinet (i checked the electrician fitted this)
Connection of eves cupboard lights
A couple of downlights
Smoke alarms, note the cpc
And it goes on
