Why Ha Ha? Don't you believe it?
Yes, i believe it, They will turn up and all will be sorted!!

Happy days!! [as i said!!]

john..

Jeez Mr cynical   are you fishing for work?

For the DNO to do this work and not test it would leave them wide open should something go horribly wrong.

They will test their Ze, and polarity, but i doubt they will actually connect the customers earth cable. That is not their responsibility.. If they wanted to be funny, they could say the installation looked defective and want a test cert before re-energising it..

Mr working on previous experience ...... The chaps around me are ex seeboard who believe they are gods.... But nothing "after" the head will they touch ......

been there, done it on a number of occasions .....

looks like TT to me, but the DNO are probably more concerned about the metal service head and will be wanting to replace that. and looks like they will throw in an earth too. but if you had an insulated service head, i doubt they would be interested

Think you are bang on Andy (how come I can't find you under the @thingy?) . Makes you wonder who disconnected the main earth, although the cutout fuses are relatively new (that's the black things above the metal bit @Andrew Scott ). Don't see many metal consumer heads in my area, and the ones I've seen have an earth screw.

Thank you for explaining what the cutout fuses are.

I expected the disconnected earth cable to go to the metal consumer head but man from Scottish Power said it was much more complicated than that.

the metal service head probably isnt earthed, so if there was a fault inside it, then it could become live. which is most likely they are replacing it
