Ihave just applied for elecsa and after having a good read through there site i have noticed it is an extra subscription if i want to be able to do PIR's.

I no pir's dont come under part p therefore you technically can give your own but some say you cant, whats the correct answer etc

im unsure whether to phone elecsa back tomorrow and pay the extra to enable me to do pir's or just stay with what i have payed for and if asked i can issue my own.

cheers

anyone know then?? can u issue a pir of your and whats the differance between a sheme pir or your own one??

Ive been reading on other forums and the general feeling over PIR'S is totally mixed regardless of 2391.

Im confused about all this, anyone can issue a pir cant they and do not have to be with a sheme to issue this.

If you are competant and insured i cant see what the problem is and the feeling with a lot of people seems to be the same.

I'm with ELECSA and also noticed that they charge and re-visit you for PIRs. I don't get it either. I just do them anyway, its not Part P, and I did them before I joined ELECSA .

Ye thats what i noticed, im not 2391 but have always issued pirs before all this part p came out as did everyone.

all i wana no realy is if i dont get the periodic EXTRA rip off whats the problem in me giving my own pirs

What does 2391 mean ? ELECSA are OK for the Part P nonsense, if you go with them just ignore the PIR stuff and carry on as you did.Deke
C&G 2391 Test and inspection exam, proves competance of testing and inspection.

im trying to find out whether its actually needed for a periodic or not as some say yes some say no.

its a little extra earner for the scam providers. there is no requirement to be seperatly reg'd with them to carry out PIR's. providing your competent to carry them out, just go ahead with it. Save some money

having 2391 would be a good starting point in proving your competent to carry out I&T, but its not a requirement. as long as you know what your doing, your good to go

well i will just get my elecsa registration for part p and issue my own pirs unless som1 can tell me a reason why i definatly cant issue them, then i will re-think

If a scheme accepts you under Part P then they have accepted you as competent in test and inspection.

Are these schemes not because some organisations want you to be part of a PIR scheme such as rental management firms etc and its probably getting ready for it being part of the HIPs process.

If you
