Only because he has economy 7. The penalty for a cheaper night rate, is a higher day rate and higher standing charge.

South africa has silly cheap electricity, they make it from coal as they are self sufficient in the stuff...
Now, as it happens, we in the UK have 300 years supply of coal.... Why not dig it up, create no end of jobs and a boom in the economy too..
BECAUSE CAMERON AND HIS CHUMS HAVE NO INTEREST IN PROSPERITY FOR THE MASSES, that is why. They just want maximum profits for their banker friends. Sell us foreign power at a 100% markup, and make us have loads of useless windmills because THEY have a vested interest in them......

Oh yes, and Marvo, in the UK, instead of having a special low tariff designed for poor people, they will usually make them have a prepay meter instead and charge them MUCH more. [Great country the UK is...]
