At this is a temporey site could i get away changing the shower breakers to mcb with out comprise as this is what we had to do with most of the main distubution board at the end of the rows take out rcd main switch and fit normal main switch ???
do you even understand what an RCD does? if you do, you wouldnt be asking something like 'can i change an RCBO for an MCB without comprimise', because there is a big comprimise, there is now no RCD part. and if its tripping all the time, then there is a fault, removing any safety devices wont remove the fault, only hide it. at least until someone gets killed or the place burns down. good luck defending that one.

maybe you should get someone competent to have a look at it and find the fault, since you cant.

Getting condensation inside showers is unusual as heating element usually keeps them 'aired'. However if useage is intense then all things are possible. Think your choice of improving ventialtion is probably the way forward. Only other option is remote shower units - ie heating element outside of cubicle. Have a look at instantaneous water heaters and shower mixer taps. Other than that, better quality shower units??

sparky 1985 I think it is the rcbo next to each other and the main switch, heat is being transfered between them and this is causing you the problem . I suggest you space the rcbo and main switch a space/way apart and this will cure it

and there goes another new member pist off with pointless replies, you guys are killing this forum. come on mods step in and stop this.

no its fine i can take constructive comments just I talk to people all day who no nothing about electrics. I half expected to be different on here so i would not need to speak like an idiot thanks guys for all the comments thoe. We have now made a log sheet to record what showers are tripping and how often if often at all

thanks for the info but cant move showers to another room and there not willing to increase fan size just awaiting to see if we can put vent in the bathroom doors to expel condensation that way

this would be so worth a try but there is no room on the board to do so this job is so restrictive so many different chains of commands to follow but he have 700 showers in total and luckily there not all showing same signs

700 wow, thought you were on about 1 or 2 :^O I take it your at the Olympics? Either way, good luck with it all and please keep us informed if you manage to pin-point the problem(s). The only other option would be installing de-humdifiers, but I get the impression there isn't any money for doing that. With the vents it helps if you can get 'cross flow' of air ie a vent on opposite sides of room and at different levels, but keep away from existing fans as this can effectively 'short circuit' the flow and make things worse

you got it right mate its for the olympics. If i do find a good solution i will let you all know but as you guessed there not willing to spend any money unless truly urgent and shower tripping we may see a problem they wont
