I have a summer house built 30ft from the back of my house.

I have 3 ample spare ways from my consumer board in my kitchen what can supply the summerhouse.

I want in the summerhouse 2 sets of 2 plug sockets. 2 strip lights and 1 small extraction fan. Cable will run underground direct to summer house.

How much would if you can calculate from my description would you charge ?? Based Telford Shropshire.

I got a recommended guy round and he quote near 1500 I think that's ott if I do say so myself

Electric to a shed once the consumer box is linked up it's a simple clear run up to the shed then a straight fitting out inside from there  it's a 16ftsq 4x2 framed building all sealed from the roof to the sides with patio doors and the inside is bare waiting for wiring before it can be kingspan insulated and plastaboard' and skimmer

Summer house is 50 foot away from house. I've seen projects done and I was happy for it to run along my fence in steel pipe

Soft soil is have it dogged out in 2 hours max

Located Telford Shropshire. It's a big shed at end of day that quote would cost more then the shed lol..

Let's think theoretically for a minutes if you could.. A 16ftsq 4x2 wooden framed cube needing 2 strip lights central to the roof, 2 sockets. 1 extractor fan and a switch box. Price goods and fitting ???

How was the other £1500.00 quote broken down?  i.e. what labour and materials were they quoting for. Possibly they identified some anomaly with the existing installation that needs addressing that you haven't mentioned? e.g. condition of the current earthing and bonding. However assuming there are no big issues and the job could be completed in less than a couple of days max, I would guess £800.00 or £900.00 tops should be enough to get a 4.0mm or 6.0mm SWA supply to the accessories you describe.

Just to add, the fact it is just a big shed in the garden, not a solid brick structure part of the house does mean far more potential hazards and dangers to the integrity of the electrical installation.  So appropriate extra measures need to be considered. Also this work will need correct testing, certifying and notifying to LABC for part P compliance.

I'd love to know why you keep equating 4x2 to 16sq'

how does that ever make sense?

btw,

I'd hazard a wild guess at between 1k - 1200 isn't far off the mark considering none of us have seen anything of this installation.

post a picture of your fuse box and where the supply cable meets your meter and we can maybe help a little.

Well here in the wilds of Berkshire (Bucklebury to be exact)

4mm submain to a summer house from a disused cooker circuit, 30ish meters away from the house with swa buried for full run, 1x LED strip in the summer house, 2x LED bulkheads on veranda, 1x two gang one way switch, 1x fused spur, 3x double sockets with usb  & one double external socket.

Plus installation of MEB to oil pipe at the house & change of mcb to RCBO on the old cu

£1000 give or take a few quid............and the art of digging the trench is.........let the apprentice take regular breaks.

if that was a job of mine, carry on! i hate digging

1500 may be reasonable. it may not be. does sound a bit high, but you also havent said that the summerhouse is 2 metre form the house or half a mile away...

I'd get a couple more quotes

Where are you?

Sorry guys it won't let me upload a video hard graft this lol 4x2 wood set to a 16ftsq frame 8ft high at the front to 7ft at the back. Thanks all for your input. The guy reckons3 days work 250 a day and the rest costs
