Anyone had any experience? I ordered a temperature sensor for my dishwasher a month ago. Nothing, no explanations. I decided to phone them, kept on the line for 20 minutes despite a pre recorded message saying the call would be answered in 1 minute. Gave up in the end and phoned Belling. They had the part and desoatched it straight away. Just had my phone bill and am apalled to find I have been billed £6 for the privelige of a 20 minute call which wasnt even answered.

Don't think I'll bother again.

In all honesty I’ve used them twice, the first time I ordered an oven fan as was told the original was not working and the job was 180 miles form home wanted to be prepared, then found out it was the fan arranged a return all went very well. The second time I was after the terminal block for the main connection only to be told that the 3ph to 1ph adaptors has to be ordered separately m, so ordered two plus the terminal block, on arrival I had three terminal blocks complete with all adaptors in situ!! Spoke to a manager told them of their error now returned the unwanted two and waiting in refund. Didn’t cost a penny as dialled the landline number.

Used to use them, was sceptical about the OEM parts as they always seemed poorer quality than the ones they were replacing but never had any complaints.

Called UKPN on my mobile years ago, it cost me £16 to try get them to sort out a damaged service head which to my knowledge they never did....

The part was £6 on espares and they said they were out of stock and were having trouble sourcing more stock. Phoned Belling and they told me they supplied Espares and they had plenty of stock so someone was telling porkies. Bought same part for £17 from Belling - strange that it cost more than Espares when they were the supplier?

Anyway dishwasher working again so all is well just annoying dealing with people like that

Belling is owned by Glen Dimplex. They would sell spares in bulk to e-spares. The fact that you are only buying one, leaves it uneconomical to sell you the part cheaply.

We have a parts distribution centre which is staffed, it is there more as a service than a money spinner.  Management view it as a waste of space and a necessary evil.

We are trying to give that part of the business away to another site within the group.

As is maintenance, we keep the business going, do we get any credit?

I’ve had to deal with disgruntled customers after hours. I even had to go on a customer care course? WTGrape, I keep the plant going, I don’t sell the cr@p!

Several years later I went in to production management. What a pain in the arse, more disgruntled customers and more earache! I had a bet with my boss, “whoever got a new job first took the other out for a meal”, I had to pay up.

Funnily enough,  I got a phone call patched through to my mobile from some old doll who owned a 20yr old heater which  was never made in our factory and it was tripping her mcb.

I could hear her husband rooting about in the background,  I talked her through turning the heater off and resetting the mcb.

She was disappointed to hear it is no longer in production, I ended up googling a local electrician in her area and giving her the number.

I had to explain to her, I just kept the factory machines running not install heaters.

I was quite happy to pay £17 and would order straight away from Belling rather than bother with espares in future. Whats the point in advertising something for £6 if you cant supply it anyway?

I consider myself fortunate to have a company called “Appliance spares direct” on my doorstep. They are also a Euronics supplier now,. They have sourced many varied parts for me, especially when l was doing a maintenance job a few years ago. As I say, I can just call in but I think they do mail order and have a website. They are at Preston New Road, Blackpool.
