EV Chargers ...an interesting question raised yesterday.

1)   I foresee a smart charger "talking " to your smart meter  telling it that a car is being charged and a fuel tax will be added to charge times .  

Then people will use granny chargers with their standard 13A sockets ..............

But I read last week   the NICEIC stated   standard sockets should NOT be used for car charging .   They have spoken  Murdo .

yes, but how many people are going to think 'i must check this socket is designed to have this plug plugged in'

not going to happen. it will just be a case of plugging it into any socket itll fit into
