EV chargers CU in meter box

I maybe wrong but I’m sure you can’t install equipment in the DNO meter box but pod point seem to do it all the time

In the good old days a quarter of the back plate was for other equipment so I can’t see the issue

When are they ever likely to check? Anything happens to the box and they say it's your problem and refuse to repair or replace it.

I Watched a video the other day that addressed this issue with a IP rated outdoor C/U for this purpose .
I did an install several years ago where I had to put two cabinets in the wall as house c/u was a long distance away . 1 was for my switchfuse as B/G wouldn't allow it in the one with there smart meter going in it .
That looks messy in there .
