Funny how peoples tastes change. When we moved into this house 12 years ago this light was in the hall, had been made from parts by the previous owner. I hated it but thought the large glass bowl was rare it was kept so its been in the shed all this time. I recently remembered it so after removing the mouse nest and spending an hour or so scrubbing and polishing the globe i even remembered the box in the garage where the home made hanging bracket was. I filled in the holes and screws with some brass finials and bits from an old snooker table light i got from a job & was scrapping. I  Am  chuffed with  the result & think its strange how i did not even want it in the house back then. I plan to spray the brass parts metalic silver and am not sure about the top bracket as i can get the correct top fitting.

I think it looks okay I like the light pattern it gives around it but it's difficult to say much without knowing what the rest of the room looks like. I've also made several light fittings for our house and I think they're better than the usual mass produced stuff but them again I might be biased.

Oh.......dear.  Polystyrene roof tiles.

The Fire Brigade do not like them.

Especially in kitchens.  I had a bisexual

ambulance driver in my kitchen once

and I heard all about it.

She was only there for the tea.

But.... that is a classy light fitting.
