This morning I was testing an extension that I'd wired (prior to energising) and found a N-E insulation fault on the upstairs lighting circuit..
after a little bit of further investigation I found that the fault was in a cable that linked 2 wall lights (6' apart) so with the homeowners permission I start to make a channel between the 2 lights to rewire that cable and what do I find....
I'd drilled through my own blinking cable :red card ,, I shouldnt have mind, because my cables came straight down the wall and the screws that I'd put in to fix the fitting were below where the cables exited the wall.... the blinking builder hadn't pulled all the slack through the board when he'd dot and dabbed the wall and he'd put a load of adhesive around the cables so I wouldn't have been able to pull any slack anyhow:red card
so,, about an hour and a hal chasing and fixing a fault that shouldn't have been there any how
the only bright side is that the builder now has a 6' long, 1/2 inch wide chase to make good ROTFWL
