Hi, I have a fault on a lighting circuit in a commercial premises. Power is fed to the switch and a single switch wire and neutral goes on to feed five downlight bulbs and then onto 3 LED'S. If I turn on the switch neither the downlights or LED'S come on and the MCB cuts out, although if I turn the MCB back on leaving the local switch closed the 3 LED'S work! Any advice would be appreciated. With thanks

Thanks for the reply, whether the downlights are LV is something I will have to check! I only looked at the job for a few minutes and left due to not feeling very well. Sounds very promising though, I will let you know tomorrow! Cheers

are the downlights mains or low voltage?if lv are they fed from 1transformer?

my guess would be transformers kaputin
Is Not Mains & low voltage one and the same thing Betty ?

I know you mean Mains or 12 volt [ELV].. just saying thats all :)

I agree Betty could be iffy trannys ,could also be iffy connections too.

Thanks also!

May also be an incorrect mcb i.e. B type where a C would be better suited.
