Hi guys,

In a building with 9 studio flats is it necessary to link all the smoke detectors or only the ones in comunal area (hallway, etc.)? can I fit normal battery supplied detectors in each flat and radiolink for the rest of the building ( detectors, call points, etc.)?

There are very strict rules nowadays for HMO's.

Most fire authorities will insist on all detectors to be linked.

The best way I have found is to use addressable systems the fire brigade love them because they never need to search for the point of fire, the digital panel tells them the fisrt sensor activated.I also love the ease of a loop system and the initial commissioning is a doddle.
