hello all..

does any one know where i can find what what different type of property requires what fire detection system ??

EG... HMO requires grade A fully automatic. with call points at exits smokes in bedrooms living rooms halls ect?

a lil confused on a top floor flat. it has a panel but with only one detector in the flat hall and the bells are in the communal hall for the other flats, no call points.

i would just like to know for sure what systems needs be fitted in what property

This depends on so many variables - there isn`t a hard & fast rule for "x" property type requires "y" fire system.........

You need to talk to the specifier of the system, the fire officer ( if HMO or rented) ; the council can have stipulations.

Then you need to know (or write) the FRA.

The construction of the building, the occupancy type, layout of premises, storeys etc, will ALL be relevant to choosing the system, detectors, call points, etc.

( Plus, of course, the relevant section(s) of BS5839; which is NOT cheap, even for the (comparatively) small "-6" (domestic)

KME

this is not an install.... i was asked to give a price to test the system.. but I'm not sure weather the system is ok for the property.. i think i will call the council tomoro

what you desribe sounds wrong. The top flat needs to be linked to lower levels so that fire in these areas warns occupants of top flat in time to escape building.

DO SOME SERIOUS READING UP ON FIRE SYSTEMS OR LEAVE WELL ALONE
