Wired lighting circuits using all 3 of the main methods, loop in, looping at switch, and spider method, none of them wrong, none of them better or worse than the other, just different methods for different situations.

So super spark you best have a word with your teacher and give him a good talking to.

and on some jobs, its often a mixture of all depending on layout etc

I'd say what regulations stipulate either opinion.  Arguments are generally between parties who have limited knowledge or experience.

Then you would assume, quite wrongly I imagine that this was an aggressive arguement. I am sorry you are incapable of a grown up arguement in which two adults converse sensibly but have opposing views. See point 2 below:

argument

ˈɑːɡjʊm(ə)nt/

noun

1.

an exchange of diverging or opposite views, typically a heated or angry one.

"I've had an argument with my father"

synonyms:quarrel, disagreement, squabble, fight, difference of opinion, dispute, wrangle, clash, altercation, feud, dissension, war of words, contretemps, exchange of views; More

2.

a reason or set of reasons given in support of an idea, action or theory.

"there is a strong argument for submitting a formal appeal"

synonyms:reasoning, line of reasoning, logic, case; More

I think this thread has gone far enough

I have used all 3 in my own house

Loop at switch and loop at light downstairs

Spider upstairs,

Whatever suits the situation best

old pic, but a quality install by council

And, if you changed that for an rcbo, you would have to rewire it. Some 2 pole rcbo's MUST have the power in to the top terminals and let all the smoke out if operated with the power feed into the bottom terminals.

As I asked and commented,  "what regulations stipulate either opinion?".  and arguments are generally between parties who have limited knowledge or experience. Rather than discussing the regulations that may or may not back up either side of your opening post, For some reason you consider the above content to be a grown up discussion between two parties. As Evans suggested this thread would appear to be going nowhere.
