Flashover

Was told the other day by a PV installer working on a job I was on that if I had to turn off the inverter, I would have to turn it back on in the order of AC then DC. Or it would 'flashover'.

Couldnt be bothered to think about what he was going on about as I was busy.  

When I started thinking, what happens in a power cut when the sun is shining? 

Was there any sense in what he was talking about?

Though as much think he was giving it the biggun as I was working there doing the extension and he had worked there before, he may have even priced the extension directly with the customer not sure as I'm working for the builder.
