Couldn't believe what I saw on the news last night. Footage of the waist high water in Cumbria, and all the street lights still on:O

I can only gather from this that the power was still on to the houses:O

Rather you than me.

Best of luck by the way to anyone caught up in the flooding, must be awful.

Indeed Bez, The implications of this sort of damage can go on for a very long time, well after the waters subside. I think I can safely say that thoughts and condolences of the forum are with the family of that Policeman who was swept off the bridge and any others who may be unaccounted for.

Doc H.

Very sad news indeed, just days before his 45th birthday, trying to help and save others.

My thoughts as everyone on here, are with the family of PC Bill Barker.

I visit Lorton (4 miles south of Cockermouth) every year, I've walked up and down the that High Street so many times..

Very distressing to see the pictures in the Sunday papers this morning.

:(

Hope none of our members are affected by the floods.
Slightly off my patch really but I do have customers in Bassenthwaite and just outside Cockermouth.

I've already had a call from one wanting his letting property PIR'd once it's dried out. He says water was only to skirting board level - hope he meant ground floor!

Can't get there at the moment though, so many roads and bridges closed - leave the ones that are passable clear to the people who really need to use them is my view.
