It turns out we are probably eligible for a free boiler fitting. we currently have a Vaillant turbomax 242e which is about 12 years old. We also receive some tax credits and therefore should qualify.

I'm just asking the knowledgeable people of the forum their thoughts on this scheme and if there are any catches. I have already checked and this is supposedly free, NOT green deal.

thoughts?

I done a load of these about 10 years ago,

didnt seem to be any sort of catch from the householders POV,

different matter if you were the subby doing the install and actually expecting to get paid for it,

there are a few really dodgy firms out there, including a lot that DONT use actual trades to do it,,,,,,,

wanna PM me the name of who is putting it in?

Anything boilerwise,  whoever, however or what is actually fitted.....

An important thing you have to check is who can provide ongoing maintenance and service support for it afterward???

Any boiler, free or paid for is only any good if someone is willing and able to maintain it and parts are reasonably easy to get hold of when items do start failing!
