G99 application

Hi there,

Could someone clarify something for me, please...

Getting a quote from a fairly big company in the NE for solar PV and a battery solution. Size of array is 4.86kW.

Northern power grid, our DNO, says anything over 3.86kWh needs it however the solar company say you only need a G99 application if we include optimisers on the panels.

I would have thought whether optimisers are included or not is irrelevant. Surely it's the size of the array?

Any help appreciated.

It's not based on array size, it's based on the inverter and it's potential to backfeed the grid.
