Hi All, really would appreciate some help.

My Garog (now out of business) garage door has unrolled itself, hence now when I go UP the door opens but ends up only half way up.

I looked round the forum and found a couple of bits but cannot seem to fix it, I manually used the screw to lift the door to the top but when I run it again all it does is unroll again (result blister on hand).

It seems to me that the door just doesn't know where the top and bottom are when it hits the floor it just doesn't stop and unrolls (can't see any switches that you'd expect to see for top and bottom on the motor). I even let it unroll and then manually screwed up the slack... run it again, same result + blister on other hand! I've included a picture of the control box below, really hope someone can help me.

I've no knowledge of your door system, but logic says it MUST have a way of sensing UP and DOWN.

Whatever that sensing system is is where your problems lie.

Hence there are either some sensors you haven't found, or (just maybe) it works like a car window winder, which senses force via the motor current, which of course increases when stalled.

I really think there must be position sensors somewhere so have a good look, following all cables.

It it DOES work on motor current sensing then it's probably in need of lubrication.

As said above by my  illustrious colleagues ,  whatever the system is that stops your door at the top or bottom  is out of sync.     I only  know of roller shutter doors  where they use a screw thread  with a travelling cam that follows the door position .

Looking at your control box  I can't see how it knows where the door is .

However I'd guess that there isn't too much wrong with it if its still going up & down .

As said ,  try a local door specialist.

I just magnified your photo ,  I'm not sure but I'm somewhat suspicious of the links in the connections bottom right ...possibly up & down sensors should be connected there  ????   :C     Has anyone  been messing with it ?     Pure guesswork  , I know nothing .

you need to adjust the limits on the motor, or wrap the curtain back around the barrel to where it originally was. looking inside the control panel wont help you with this

it doesnt, it simply puts power to the motor in the direction you want it to go. once motor hits the limits then it stop automatically.

different motors have different adjustments. but in his case, garog usually use hold to adjust limit switches rather than the usual twizzle stick limits

Locked to prevent hi-jacking (again.)
