I need to work out how big a generator a customer needs to buy when his 3 phsae supply is turned off can anyone tell me how to work this out

How do you convert from amps to kVA and is it the total comsumption of the 3 phases or just the biggest value

Just stick a daa logger on it for a week,, then you can work out all sorts of things like average consumption, peak consumption etc
