is anyone interested in the green energy thats taking over the world,

electric boilers,

ground sourse,

air sourse,

air con,

under floor,

i have registered on a new forum and it might just be the next thing if your interested in keeping up with technology..

pm me for the link, or if admin agrees i will place it her..

I have just quoted for the installation of solar panals and a ground source heat pump.

This is for a country hotel.

More and more larger commercial properties are having them fitted.

spit * ground source. is it bore hole or pad your looking at ?

have a look at air source it blows it away,

funnily enough we had a meeting today in a country pub ... i wonder if its the same 1 ???

and yes i am serious.. is it one of penelopies ventures

Air source is not as efficient according to all the data I collected at the time of the quote.

Because it has its own land the hotel could do the coiled pad layout, or even bore holes subject to ground survey.

No this one is almost dilapidated and is due a full refurb, I have

ground sourse does have it advantages and if you have the land even better. in domestic its slightly different due to the amount of land/size of garden etc .. ie: ground frost etc ..

we are looking at solar, ground source but we may go for air source dependig again on surveys etc ..

both work great with underfloor so guess thats the way forward.

some excellent info here and tips etc ..

Very interested in this technology, might have a chance at a wind turbine installation.

All this new technology is ok but before you get to excited with ground source take a look at the size of pump required to circulate the water around the loop of pipe, you will be surprised at the power required and it isn't cheap to install CJS

I do not have the figures to hand at the moment but for every

air source up to 400% but again depends on temp but does work down to -40 at a greatly reduced heat output

I have wired a couple of ground source systems one was single phase the other three phase. Seems like a good system but takes a few years to pay for itself so I was told but after that its a good investment.

Batty

anyone else think that taking heat from the ground (cooling it) and heating the air is just as bad as burning something to get the heat in the first place?

only possible good thing would be no more volcanoes - all the rock down there completely solid!

Not saying these systems are no good just pointing out its not free heating CJS

basic install starts at 12k . :(

dont like ground source it does strange things to the earth. google ground frost now that cant be normal.

I just have to laugh.

If not I would cry at some of the responses to this forum,

A typical commercial installation with an average electricity bill of lets say

This can get to extremes as well Can give some right ground frost especially on large areas. Bore hole doesn't really frost the ground.

It can even freeze water sources that are near by (within inch's) and it has been done before next to a rain water tank, and the ground source froze the rain water tank which cause quite a few issues.
