Alright Stepps I'm here ...........  was thinking of a Pyro ringer at first , assuming the bit we can't see is a sharp cutting disc, but then Slippers says  Kitchen use and thats thrown me .     If its for kitchens , why is it the Sun Electrical Corp.  I wonder?

Forgot about this thread.

What if i said the tool could be used in a kitchen  :innocent

Well then I would be lying.

The answer which was guessed/googled by many is............................Its a spark plug lead remover (circa 1950), made from leather so you can remove or handle  a lead whilst the engine is running. This would be done for many reasons such as finding a duff plug or using other tuning equipment that clipped on the plug or lead.

I don't know I think many automotive tools have a place in the kitchen! Kitchen table perfect place for lapping valves etc.

My old Mum might disagree though. Cleaned a carb out in the sink one day. Didn't realise that the plug surround had a leak. She'd stored that seasons pickled onions directly below in jars with greasproof paper held on by laccy bands. She was giving them away and everyone was complaining they tasted of petrol!

Yep used to have them whenI was in the motor trade for pulling HT leads while engine running, if it made no difference then it was that cylinder, plug or lead playing up.
