Batty - Are these the Ideal ones now being sold by Wagobox.com website then ??

Edit - Website says manufactured by Wago, so they are not Ideal ones and much thinner.
They look the same as the ideal ones. I didn't know they do those. They don't have them yet at my wholesalers although my wholesaler does the ideal ones anyway as well as Wagos.

Well today Steptoe had a look at the piece of ****. It basically a cheap piece of **** and is good for 2.5mm solid really. I can confirm this since that what I used on my sockets.

They use one blade for both holes which is why I couldn't get it to hold. NEVER BUY HAGER!! And to think I drove all the way to Bolton to get them.
Thanks for the heads up.

So it's a cheap piece of carp that is not fit for the purpose it is described.

I wonder how many dangerous, loose, "maintenance free" junctions there are like that in use, hidden, lurking under someone's floor boards, just waiting to catch fire.

Where are trading standards when you need them to pull the manufacturers of this s**t up?

I've only used them once when they first came on the market and had the same issue with 4mm not holding tight in the clamp on one side only. I wasnt happy with it so ended up taking the 10 I had from the wholesaler back.

I do still use the other Ashley joint box (J501) for down lighters.

where else but sitting on their ass drinking coffee/ "there's not much we can do crap".

Have you actually put a 2.5mm solid conductor into a new one...{not one you've tried stuffing 4.0mm in?}

All the ones I have seen gripped 2.5mm no problems...

:C
At best I would say they are OK for 1mm nd downlights, deffo wouldnt trust them with anything else,

And deffo wouldnt BUY any for anything, they are , in my opinion, inadequate at doing what they are sold to do.
