Well.....

I've had a long day at work today...

Due to the type of job it was more practical to work carry one later for a longer day..

(Left the job approx 9:30pm)

Only local so still back home around 9:45pm..

and I want to try and get an early start in the morning as well

So Ive unloaded some gear,

had a shower

had me tea..

Now its around 10:45...

But cant get an early night...

NO...

Me two youngest Daughters have decided to go and watch the last Harry Potter film...

The soonest they can once on general release this Friday...

So Dad's Taxi has had to take them to the Cinema ready for the 12:00 midnight show!!!

2+ hours.. + the adverts & trailers..

Then Dads blinkin Taxi has to go back and fetch them somewhere around 2:30am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No early night for me....

Mrs SL is already in bed sending up the ZZZZ'eds :z :z:z:z:z

so she will be bright & fresh for work in the morning!!!

HAS anyone else had to do a late night Harry Potter run?

Well 2.45am...

Taxi service finished..

all passengers collected and taken to destination....

My one daughter is back home at the moment from Uni...

so she hasn't got to get up in the morning..

Other daughter doing her 1st year of A-Levels...

Just found out she has now broken up for the summer..

So she hasn't got to get up in the morning.....

Tis why they both decided to go and see the film....

They BOTH forgot DAD's got to get up in the morning though and go to work!!!!

Just to add, a review of the film on the radio found it to be excelent . I must find an 10 yr old to take me.

The greatest achievment of Harry Potter was to increase the popularity of reading books with children ( Students and grown-ups included)

Have you seen any of them Deke? They are good watchable films and there tend to be many adults there not just kids. If you took a 10 year old they might be quite scared!

Yes Patche I've seen them all TBH and they are very good and unique with the young original cast growing up in reality and within the story line .

I thought a couple of them were too long at 3 hours but no big deal , just glad to stand up at the end.

As you say , there is some scary stuff in there for a 10 yr old , what certificate do they have?

I thought the creation of the magic world , existing unknown, parallel to the Muggle world was clever with it's parallel wand shops and travel from platform 9 1/2 the Night Bus etc Hogwarts, of course is the classic bording school device that kid's love, as existed back in the 1950,s .

Couple of characters , I think, filched from Lord of the Rings ( Dumbledore = Gandalf Voldemort = The Dark Lord ) ( Invisibility cloak = same as the Ring) ( Harry = perhaps Frodo) But I'm not knocking it ...every film should have flying cars,.... unicorns.... house elfs..and the Weasleys and even the Dearsleys .

Must have put the British film indusry back on the map.

I only ever saw bits of Friends for some time and didn't really get it until I watched it repeated from the start and thought it was very slick, clever comedy based on the characters as we often do it . And there was Jennifer Aniston of course .

Oh was she in it .....I didn't really notice . who.???? .......Jennifer Aniston ...oh her ... Hmmmm might have seen her .

But the best ever US comedy , in my humble opinion was ............. come on guys ....any guesses !!!!

The early ones were PG but IIRC from the Half Blood Prince they became 12 as they got very much darker!
