Just thought I'd run this up the flagpole and see who salutes it!!!

Seems to me there are a large number of vehicles on the opposite side of the road with headlights that blind you!!!

Thats without the metal halide ones or whatever they are .

Loads of them each night as I travell back to Brum.

nothing wrong with HID's. i have 2 sets fitted in the van (although only 1 set is normally used)

its mostly people whos headlights are not aligned and pointed upward thats the problem.

also, anyone noticed the amount of people these days that dont use any lights at all when its dark

I have just bought a lighting bar with 4 great big spots for my Discovery and another 2 for the bumper. Great fun using them when a car driving towards me has no regard for the fact he has his main beam on. Soon fumbles for the lights when the 'sun' comes up!

And another thing !!!!....... these headlights that come on automatically ....... so not far from me the M6 is elevated over a few roads heading for J7 .... I'm waiting to pull out of a premises onto the road , a car comes under the motorway and his headlights flash on, then off again ... so I go to pull out ...giving a cheery wave of thanks... and he continues coming at 40MPH, unaware that he has just flashed me. Because my van is somewhat slow to pull away ,there was no crash.

I'm well aware that flashing headlights has no legal meaning , but it is common practice.

Yes the "Blue Tinged Things" They suddenly seem to glare at you as the car makes a slight direction change. Andy likes 'em !
some cars come with them from new. that sudden glare with direction change would happenen the same with normal lights anyway

same here, 8x 55w lights at them usually gives them the hint

i hate the headlights that your referring to i have shouted at a few people (all be it im driving at the time) for the headlights being too high and having the full beam on!

My headlights on my car are adjustable but they are standard headlamps in there, not the stoopid bluey tinged ones! but i still take careful consideration to drivers on other side of the road, so not to dazzle them!

another problem, most people dont know you can adjust the height from the comfort of the car by turning the height switch.... fully loaded car, headlight beam higher

And another thing !!!

Bloody taxis round here pull over and wait on the right hand side of the road, dipped headlights staring straight at you , blimey is it moving !!!! No , just another PITA taxi driver.

And another thing !!!

Once a pick-up truck has the broken down car hooked up , front wheels raised for towing away......... whats with all the strobing and rotating lights ????

Its now just another truck , not a wide load, not driving slowly !!!!

Think my car has some sort of light sensor on as when driving it some times looks like its flashing and flickering not sure if it's a feature or a problem all ways done it though just seems to adjust to the light

Only when I'm n a rush :)

most newer model mercs do have the light sensors on them, it will adjust the lights appropriately according to the weather and the natural lighting!
