Hiya some boring background...

I'm Paul - I was a sparks back in the 70's and had my own business for 30 odd yrs - have had a cards in job for the past 3+ yrs whilst trying to sell my house - now moved and back self-employed doing all sorts of work, I've fitted kitchens, bathrooms etc so I enjoy being an all rounder now - still have a love of Electrics so thought I'd join a nice friendly forum like yours and keep up to speed.

Oh I don't mind the odd round of golf and pint now and then so cheers all Guinness

I used to drink in the swan with two necks, is the one on the corner still decent? on the right as you go down the hill from Mcr direction.

Went to one the other day - "just a few light fittings to put up" - what she didn't mention was she'd had a burst on the top (3rd) floor - the lighting circuit on the ground flr had blown - 10 downlighters hanging out - switches unscrewed and exposed - huge plaster ceiling rose broken away from ceiling with just the screws from the light fitting holding it up. Apparantly this was the state her insurance "electricians" had left it in but they couldn't find the circuit fault(!?) (Since the burst she's had a new bathroom fitted where the burst started but not had the downstairs electrics looked at - Methinks nice lady is hiding something). "Could you also hang some doors - fit a sink etc. etc. Needs doing over the weekend and I've only got
