Im a second year student getting confused with the math.

i.e, Thevoltage across a coil is 180v when connected in series with a 4 ohm resistor across a 60Hz supply. The current flowing in the circuit is 8 amps.Calculate XL,L,Z,VR and VS. Also draw the phasor diagram and calculate the phase angle?

Any help???

You will find that everyone will give you 'pointers' but will be reluctant to provide the Answers; rather prefering you to do the Maths [FFS when did it become Math!!!! it may be grammatically incorrect BUT that is the way it has been for centuries I think]

AFAIR - XL is inductive reactance, L is inductiveness, Z is impudence not sure about VR or TBH

AND ITS MATHS with an S WE ARE NOT AMERICAN

You didn`t say "inductiveness", did you?? :slap (inductance ?)

And as for Impudence ................I think that`s maybe NOT a typo? :slap ( though Impedance would be Z)

Afraid VR isn`t one I know, either - and I haven`t done phasors in donkey`s yonks.
