So a quick intro before I go with some questions!! 

I'm not an electrician,  but I do have some idea of what I'm doing!!  essentially I'm self taught,  although did start an electronic apprenticeship that fell through.

My dad is an electrician so taught me a lot of pre part p reg wiring work, and so far none of my installations have caught fire.

My next project is in the bathroom...

great stuff, sounds like you have cracked the fire issues, now just need to sort the "not killing anyone" bit.... lol
