That WD40 is very flammable as I have found through experience.

Quite true but used sensibly then very useful. I wasn't suggesting that he washes the hob in it to burn of any fat and grease!!!!

Better still is a drop of baby oil, wipe on then buff off. Not too much you understand.

well went back tonight and all is well now, cleaner obviously did get some water in it ...some how.

should have taken it apart yesterday and 'fixed' the problem, and get paid more for doing so

Had this problem before it's usually after a water spillage . Take off all knobs and try dry out with a hairdyer it worked for me
