Erm..............I once replaced an RCD where the terminals went L1, L2, L3, N with one that went N, L1, L2...........

It was late and getting dark on a roof one night. There was a sudden bang etc............

NEVER assume like for like!

A few months ago a firm I was subbying for sent me to a rented house to fit some mains smoke alarms, I get there and the jobs a nightmare it's weyroc everywhere and the db is in the garage and directly under the bath which has this over the top tiled panel on it so instead of tackling that I spy the perfect spot to take up some board and make a trap so I fired up the cordless circular saw sets it to just deeper than the board to get a clean cut and just as I finish the last side there's a hiss and hot waters shooting everywhere. I'd hit the main hot pipe from the tank took an age to drain the system so half the kitchen ceiling had to be pulled down

on closer inspection the plumber had ran his 22mm pipe in a notch with enough clearance for the 16mm pipe next to it and the joiner had just rammed the weyroc over the top, my saw too the smallest nick out of it I was raging as it cost me a days pay and it was the 2nd pipe I'd ever hit in the 12 years I've been a spark
