... Hello my professional friends. :)

We have received a bus timetable through the door, and it is a very bad black and white photo copy.

I would like to re-do this for the benefit of my elderly neighbours.

I will be doing it in Office Word 2007.

I have taken a screenshot of the pre-made table that I will be using in word. (I can't do it from scratch as Sandra don't have enough time to teach me, and she charges triple time on Bank Holidays).

Rather than type it out again, there are two things that I need help on, which can be seen on the attachment.

Many Thanks,

Admin.

Not that I have office, but the shading looks reasonably easy....

Along side the styles theres a button with shading on it, I would assume that that allow you to select the colour..

as for the top row,, that looks like it's a header row in the table????? It sounds like you need your text to be outside of the table?

HTH

The Header is seperate mate. (unless their using a second Header)?

Quite correct with regard to the shading, young man. :) Couldn't see the wood for all the trees. :_|

Thanks Mate. :)

Can you high light the entire top row, right click and "merge cells"?

I'm not sure if that's what you want to do though!

Good luck!!

I'm, with Ali on the merge the header cells.

Question is why?

Shading you should be able to change easily?

Still on 2k3 as it works for us!

Tables in 2k3 are really easy!

As no one came up with a leisure vehicle PIR I'm designing my own.

Will upload once ready, it is based on a model form so should be OK, I'll get it proofed this end first.

Didn't M107 have one mate? I would PM him first - perhaps he hasn't seen your thread?

Thanks Noz. :) Don't know if that'll work - I will try it when I get a chance mate. :)

Try this starting point: -

http://testcal.co.uk/Pages/Documentation/Timetable.docx

Then let me know what wants changing.

One point from all the posts above.......

In word click in table to which then displays the Table Tools Ribbon tab.

Then click on the Design tab (Just as displayed in your picture)

Then when you go to select the Table styles drop down the full list.

Notice down the bottom the option "Modify Table Styles"

this enables you to do everything you asked.

You can do practically everything in word that you can in excel you just have to know how to!
