two quick questions could you help pls

i have put up an emergency light but i want it to run as a normal light i.e not power up when i turn off the switch

there is no permanent live so ive just wired the switch line and N+E

i have put a link between the L sw and L and left the battery disconnected

is this right?

the lamp lit before i finished putting the cover on the bulkhead base then i turned it off and while fixing the cover i dropped the lamp and smashed it

i got another 28w but now not working

are 2D lamps ther same as PL-Q cos the original was a 2D and the one i replaced it with was a PL_Q

you need a maintained fitting,

as opposed to the 'non-maintained' one I suspect you have.

as for the lamps, it will be as per the fitting requires,

2pin 2D fittings are NOT the same as 4pin 2D fittings.

and NO,

2D are exactly that,

and PL-Q, never heard of them, sorry.

I had an application last year in a kitchen area of a small community hall...

The Kitchen had no windows or natural lighs....

But was also a walk through between two rooms making it a fire escape route between the rooms...

They had an emergency light that could be turned on manually by people using the kitchen..

but would also operate as normal emg light in the event of power fail...

I had to replace the original one that was faulty...

can't remember what sort of lamp it had....

got a feeling it was a 4-pin 2D?
