What does " Unfollow" mean , As Monica once said in "Friends" .." its not even a word"

" I was following a bus this morning , then I decided to unfollow it so I pulled over "

Puzzled from Futtocks End .

Deke - my understanding is the term comes from Twitter. You 'follow' people's 'tweets' and therefore to unfollow them is the absolute insult.

A similar term 'unlike' has followed from Facebook

You also get 'un-friend' or 'defriend' which applies to Facebook. This is the reaction that usually happens when you wake up one day and realise that your value and importance isn't measured by the number of friends you have on Facebook plus many of them are just spamming your wall or your inbox trying to sell you things. Before you know it your 'defriending' like there's no tomorrow.

Witter, Tw@ter, Bookface or whatever they are called....I along with my older twin brother 'Evans' do not understand the concept of people asking to be 'a friend'. It is like the first day at primary school in the playground...oh how I remember those days at the Savile-King-Glitter Academy. I just cannot get my head around the idea of telling your thoughts/twaddle to the entire world [well the bit that pretends to care, anyway] and then waiting for the inane replies

follow us on [email protected]????

I know we are in the minority...I have NO friends or followers

Interesting views on those hunting friends/followers on Facebook/twitter.

How does this compare with forum members desperately seeking "scoobs" on an Internet forum?
