Finished a job off this morning so i thought i'll strip some cable in my garage when i got home.

So start stripping some good lenghts of 70mm 4 core and 35mm 4 core and some 16mm 4core do you think i could have more than 20 mins doing it before the TATTERS come down the road playing he's bloody CD trumpet not once but 3 different TATTERS within the space of an hour.

They should ban em from doing it on a weekend.

I must be in a posh area , the tatters blow real trumpets . ( Well just the one actually) We get from 3 to 5 a day .

Tatter 1......... Real trumpet

Tatters 2 ......Trumpet on CD

Tatter 3........Plays Dixie on CD

Tatter4 ............shouts via PA system

Tatter 5.............megaphone with broad Irish accent.

Don't forget Deke you are probably in the largets catchment area for Tatters with these place's close by.

We only get the thieving gypo's round here , no announcements but you can hear the rattly Perkins diesels coming. My CCTV is set on movement and the first activation everyday is around 4.45 am when you see the pick up cruising past. The passenger always has a really good look at my place probably due to the van on the drive.

I have been checked out recently

they stopped and knocked

gave them an old shower,,,,,,then they wanted to buy my scrap cable .......

pain in the bottom.......

4 or 5 different tatters every week,,,,,,but we do have a tatters scrap metal yard close by :_|

I hope its not some old street light cable you have acquired? BBC News - A63 cable thefts put drivers' safety at risk

Doc H.

Spoke to a mate of mine yesterday, they have had about 50m of 16mm 4C SWA knicked from site live cable & buried.

The toads dug it up through the fence, managed to get at it enough to open up the cable and spike one phase to ground thus taking out the circuit protection.

They then cut the other end & pulled it out.

On an industrial estate.

There was also about 250m of 11kV cable knicked from a local ex-power station site recently.

Part of the site was set on fire & police spent 48 hrs looking for dead bodies, none found.

Big disruption to local 11kV grid and 100's of

i know your quoting form BBC, but the 'putting drivers at risk' is a bit extreme. vahicles do have headlights, and drivers do manage on unlit roads. more annoying constantly going from lit to unlit all the time

steps do you have speed dome camera then that are on sensors that can spin round?

Local sub was visited by the travellers. Long story short...f Big bang, blew him out through his wedding ring. My mate is a Paramedic, he was called and found the tatters hand still holding his Voltstick...not much more, just a hand.

Skip arrived yesterday for my kitchen project [pics tomorrow night probably]. Within 2 hours there were 3 tatters around!! Skip is full of bricks, I told him he would have to have a word with the owner! Got some fibre optic cable I need shut of, so that is going on the top of the skip on monday along with some copperclad that I have just stripped out............ :coat
