Had a few sample packs of these twist on wire nuts and really like them, cant seem to find anywhere that has them in stock. Anybody know where i can track them down ?

Ive emailed Ideal but had no response from them, mind there head office is only down the road from us in Warrington might call in there.

I had a few boxes but binned them on advice from people on here. Said they were bad news. Think America uses them alot but not much over here.

saw them a few weeks ago, was going to get some to test them, but not many suppliers (apart from ideal, and only in larger quantities (only wanted a few)

m4tty, they are not the normal screw connector, these have some kind of locking mechanism or something. they dont look too bad

andy they do have a locking mechanism on them, i cant beleive how ignorant IDEAL have actually been and not even the decency to email us back. they are actually good in our opinion and ProDave, they are similar to the scruit (iv been collecting them from jobs) as i like collecting old sh**e for nostalgic reasons. these twist wire connectors even come in IP Rated versions. and they are space saving aswell compared to chock block.

We have them in stock, not sure of the price off the top off my head but could let you know if you would like?

surely I cant be the only person that calls them DOGCOCKS ,

or am I thinking of something completely different? :|

BTW, Im with SW on this, we stopped using them for a reason, is this somebodys response to WAGOs ?

Best they stay "over the pond" where UL standards are the norm.

Did not see anything on the link to indicate that they comply with BS, EN, ISO or IEC standards.

Carp personified.

Best they stay over there and don't pollute our market.

They are simply rubbish.

I would remove them every time I saw them if I could justify this.

DO they meet ANY, BS, EN, ISO, or IEC standards?

See, this is what happens when you listen to the slick talking rep :red card

Now i have another rake of kit that no one likes !! Oh well balanced out by the great other lines

Bet the sales rep put 3 solid cores into the twister, twisted them up then folded the cables at 90 degrees and said 'pull them out' which you can't as they do hold well but what happens when you need to take the cores out to test. They ain't going to go back all twisted up iykwim. I binned them and wouldn't use them personally.

Intrigued by their lack of response to you CB, I got a sample from the advert in PE a few months back, and even had a follow up call to see what I thought.

I haven't actually tried them yet mind you...

As for standards, the website only quotes UL and CE marks. Nothing to suggest any BSEN classification, and more annoyingly, I can't find any confirmation that these are maintenance free.

I think my pack may be getting filed in the circular in-tray.
