I understand it is normal to include a meter separate to an inverter in a new solar panel system but with modern inverters providing metering information how useful is it?
If I understand it correctly when using a inverter with backup AC, would you not need two meters as any PV power used by the circuits connected to the AC backup would not be being measured.
Also can a bypass switch be installed to power the critical load in case the inverter fails or needs to be removed.
I've not seen any 'switch over' power switches!
I've attached a schematic of what I propose the electrician to fit.
Any thoughts very gratefully received.
