its as nice as writing on your eyeball

Well, I was made redundant last october and went straight into another (less well paid) job. I gave them the P45 on the first day and all my paperwork is in hand. I was puzzled the first week when NI was deducted but no tax. a few weeks later I was still noty paying any. I was worried it may be a mistake so rang the tax office who told me I had unused tex free allowances. Still not paying tax, I could get used to this!

Be careful I had similar many years ago, then after 6 weeks in my pay packet I owed 50p after having worked the weekend!! Handed my cards in on the spot!

Did a lot on CIS for a builder last year, until he went bust!
works for me too.

as long as you have statements even if he hasn't paid your laughing

Unfortunately we do need to pay the taxman so that the troughs are well stocked for the funding of duck ponds and MP's husband's dodgey videos. bad day explode

With a bit of luck a few pennies may filter down to the good and essential public services that are usually woefully lacking...... :coat

Pyro.

Before you post it, have a good look at your figures for 09/10.

If you're going to be making a loss, then give HMRC a bell and discuss. You may be able to offset some of what you owe against the loss. (they've got instructions not to cause anyone more difficulties in the reccession basically)

And if you are looking to be due a rebate, get your 09/10 in as soon as you can after April 6.

Ok, probably teaching Grandma to suck eggs, but worth reminding I think.
